A pair have been arrested after a drug bust by RCMP last week.

Domanick Fraynn, 25, and Alyssa Soosay, 25, are facing numerous drug and other charges following the execution of a search warrant on June 18.

Members of the Maskwacis RCMP Community Response Unit teamed up with members from the Wetaskiwin detachment in the search of a home and vehicle in Wetaskiwin, after identifying a residence of interest during an investigation that began in Maskwacis.

In searching the home, officers found cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl as well as a stolen vehicle. Another vehicle associated to the Wetaskiwin property was located the next day and searched, yielding more than $6,000 in cash as well as oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray, methamphetamine and various controlled prescription pills.

Fraynn is facing nine charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance and possession of property obtained by crime. He was remanded and is set to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on June 23.

Soosay is charged with eight separate counts that include possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. She has been released on bail pending her appearance in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Aug. 4.

“We are happy to work with our neighbouring detachments,” said Maskwacis RCMP Cpl. Rob Simmonds.

“Taking drug dealers off the streets has a positive impact on both of our communities and supports both of our strategies to reduce crime.”
