Minor injuries in semi vs car collision in Ponoka

UPDATED

A collision between an SUV and a semi tractor resulted in relatively minor injuries.

The incident occurred on Highway 2A Feb. 27 across from the Calnash Ag Event Centre at about 4 p.m. It appears the semi tractor turned left into oncoming traffic.

The collision was severe enough that the semi’s front bumper broke off, plus did front end damage to the semi tractor as well as the SUV.

It’s believed the injuries were minor.

Ponoka RCMP, EMS and the Ponoka County East District Fire Department were called to the scene and firefighters cleaned up the subsequent spill of engine fluids.

It’s not know the status of the investigation or if charges were laid.
