Mischief and theft files for Ponoka RCMP

On March 24 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft from a motor vehicle that was parked on 57 Avenue.

Unknown suspects broke into two vehicles and a holiday trailer. A transaction card and gas monitors were stolen from a work truck. File is currently under investigation.

Theft and from motor vehicles

On March 24 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft of motor vehicle from a residence on 63 Street. A 2005 Gold Chevrolet 2500 was stolen sometime during the night.

The Maskwacis detachment located the vehicle. File is under investigation.

The same day the RCMP attended to a complaint of theft from a motor vehicle that was parked on 58 Avenue.

The vehicle had been rummaged through and cash was taken. File under investigation.

Vehicle tires slashed

On March 26 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of vandalism that happened sometime overnight on 50 Street.

Unknown suspect(s) slashed the tires of a vehicle that was parked at the back of the property. File under investigation.

Rock thrown at new medical centre

On March 24 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of mischief to the new medical centre in Ponoka.

Unknown suspects threw a rock into the glass door located on the East side of the building. File is currently under investigation.

Jeep stolen from home

On March 26 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a break and enter to a residence located on 35 Avenue.

Unknown suspects broke into the residence and rifled through the complainant’s purse that was in the home. Keys to a Jeep were removed from the purse and a gold coloured Jeep bearing Alberta marker KHY923 that was parked in the driveway was stolen.

Maskwacis RCMP investigate homicide

On March 25 at approximately 2:35 p.m. Maskwacis RCMP were called by EMS to a residence on the Pigeon Lake First Nation for an unresponsive man.

At the residence the man from Pigeon Lake First Nation was found deceased. “K” Division Major Crimes South is now investigating with the assistance of Maskwacis General Investigation Section, Maskwacis Crime Reduction Unit and Red Deer Forensic Identification Section.

An autopsy is scheduled for March 28 in Edmonton.
