Alberta RCMP reports a little before 4 p.m. on Nov. 30 that Highway QEII is now clear for traffic, but conditions remain poor.

Drivers are advised to travel with caution.

Original story follows

Officers from the Ponoka, Red Deer and Blackfalds RCMP detachments are currently on-scene at multiple collisions on the QEII Highway.

As of 2:40 p.m., when RCMP media relations issued a release, all reported collisions are in the northbound lanes of the QEII in the areas of the Highway 11 and Highway 11a overpasses.

The northbound lanes are currently not passable. As of yet, no serious injuries have been reported.

According to the release, the RCMP are also receiving a number of calls for collisions on other area secondary highways.

Due to the extreme weather conditions, RCMP are asking motorists not to travel unless absolutely necessary. If travel is necessary drive with extra caution.
