The first baby of the year in Ponoka belongs to a Hobbema couple who couldn’t be more happy.
“We knew he’d come early but we didn’t think new year’s,” said mother Shara Buffalo, 25.
Beau Mitchell Omeasoo Jr. was born at in the Ponoka Hospital and Care Centre 3:53 p.m. on Jan. 1 weighing 6 lbs. 5oz. He was nine days early and is a son to Beau Omeasoo, 27.
As the couple’s third child, Buffalo said her eight-year-old son is happy about his new little brother but her two-year-old daughter is having a harder time accepting it.
With smiles and delight, the couple posed for their first official family photo.
