There will be a temporary road closure on Chipman Avenue (between 50 Street and 51 Street) in the downtown area on Friday, October 8 (weather permitting). Crews will complete resurfacing and asphalt paving to repair sections of the roadway from last week’s utility digging of water and sewer line maintenance.

Pedestrian access to businesses along Chipman Avenue will be maintained throughout the day. Citizens are asked to please stay on the pathways to maintain a safe distance from the construction zone and equipment.

The Town of Ponoka reminds motorists are reminded to please drive with caution around construction zones and observe road signs and traffic safety personnel.

The temporary road closure will remain in place until the work is completed.
