Visit from Iceland Air: Many Ponoka residents witnessed a large commercial jet flying over Ponoka several times June 27 at about 7 p.m. This photo shows the commercial jet, operated by Iceland Air, flying at relatively slow speeds with its landing gear down. The plane circled around Ponoka three or four times before flying north. A request for information from the airline did not get much in the way of response except a short statement that the plane was diverted to the Edmonton International Airport.
