The annual Charity Checkstop was conducted Nov. 30 along Highway 2A by members of Ponoka Victim Services, Ponoka Fire Department, Ponoka RCMP and Guardian Ambulance. The campaign, which saw candy canes exchanged for donations in support of the local food bank and Santa’s Anonymous raised a total of $5,797 in cash as well as a good quantity of food and toy donations during the event.
