Truck in flames: Members of the Ponoka Fire Department had to move quickly to deal with a semi-tractor up in flames March 14 at about 3 p.m. Attached to the truck were empty butane tankers. Located on 39 Avenue on the south side of the Ponoka Stampede grounds, smoke could be seen from Highway 53 while crews headed to the location. There were no injuries in the incident and the cause of the fire is unknown.
