Ponoka Integrated Traffic members deal with a truck that struck a bridge on Highway 2 north of Ponoka.

More bridge troubles This truck hauling a forklift was stopped at the Highway 611 off-ramp along Highway 2 in the afternoon of March 29 after a report of the Township 455 (Louis Bull) flyover, north of the Bear Hills rest stop, being struck by a southbound oversized load. Alberta Transportation performed an inspection of the bridge and found the I-beams were compromised by the damage from the collision. As a result, the one lane under the flyover has been closed indefinitely until the bridge can be repaired. While the truck did have the proper oversized permit and was travelling the right route, RCMP found during its investigation the height measurements were incorrect. The driver has been charged with two offences, including being over the dimensions of the permit.
