The BRICK Learning Centre in Ponoka recognized its graduates in a unique way on June 29.
Although the format started as a necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic, the school decided to continue with a more individualized celebration of each of their graduates. Instead of a large formal convocation and walking the stage to receive their diplomas, the grads get their own time slot and lots of time to take photos with friends and family in front of the school.
They don cap and gown, pose under a balloon arch, and then receive their diplomas. There is a teepee set up for photos as well. A more traditional banquet night with the usual graduation speeches was held earlier in the month.
