A Wetaskiwin man is facing a slew of weapons offences after a chance encounter with RCMP.
Rawson Raine, 27, was arrested March 15 by RCMP officers from the Maskwacis Community Response Unit around 9:30 a.m. as the officers were cruising past a Wetaskiwin commercial property.

A further search would later find ammunition and the supplies needed to build another homemade firearm.
Raine is now facing 12 different charges in relation to the arrest, including possession of a firearm and unsafe storage.
He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance in Wetaskiwin.
