The Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce is introducing its two summer students to the Ponoka community.

Rachel Devet

Rachel Devet will be the communications assistant for the chamber. She is a third year student, studying at the University of Alberta Augustana Campus. She will be graduating in 2024 with a bachelor of management in business economics degree.

“I call Ponoka my hometown and it is where I discovered my passion for helping the community,” said Devet.

Devet has been active in local 4-H clubs since she was sevens-year-old and is currently a director on the board of the Quarter Horse Association of Alberta.

She shows horses and travels often for shows.

“I am excited to work alongside this community in promoting its local businesses and communicating with those who make this town so great.”

Victoria Lockridge

Victoria Lockridge, 19, will be working as a visitor information counsellor this summer. Lockridge, 19, is heading into her second year of university at Grant MacEwan.

She’s currently enrolled in design and hopes to become a graphic designer.

“When I am not doing schoolwork, I love participating in activities I grew up doing, such as dance and volleyball. During the summer months, I am either camping or working at summer camps as a counsellor,” said Lockridge.
