My current occupation is a financial life coach of 18 years with Solomon Financial. I was raised in the Ponoka east country until marrying my high school sweetheart and buying a quarter section south of Ponoka where my husband and I have resided for the past 34 years.
I have a passion for my community and the Town of Ponoka as I have lived in the county all my life. Building a strong community is very important especially in these times of uncertainty.
My motivation to run for public office is to give back to my community. I had been working in Red Deer and since COVID, I’ve been working at home and I feel the need to become more involved with what’s going on in my own backyard so to speak.
A few years ago, I became a board member on the Ponoka Ag Society and the Ponoka Ag Event Centre Society and I have very much enjoyed being a part of the events that we have been involved with. This is just one step closer to my backyard community to run for county council.
Three of my priorities for Ponoka County are:
– Safer communities: I will strive to be a voice for crime prevention and enforcement. We have a right to feel safe in our community.
– A growing economy: Support the attraction of long-term business investment into our county to create jobs, enable diversification and ensure tax rates are sustainable and competitive.
– Supporting agriculture: Support, growth and advancement of our agricultural community by building a sustainable agri-food and value-added sector.
