The Ponoka Downhill Derby will be going ahead this weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 9.
The family-friend event is open to spectators, so grab a lawn chair and come out watch the carts race down 42 Avenue.
Driver check-in is at 8:30 a.m. and the racing starts at 10 a.m.
Registration is now closed.
There will be a temporary road closure on 42 Avenue (between 43 Street and 45A Street) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accomodate the event.
The town is asking motorists to drive with caution, observe road signs and watch for pedestrians.
