The Ponoka Jubilee Library (PJL) is hosting a one-night Zoom presentation on podcasting next month as part of Central Alberta Fanfest and Alberta Culture Days.

Podcasting 101 with Sierra Larson will be held on Sept. 30.

“Sierra Larson is an Alberta novelist, comic creator, journalist, and podcaster who will be sharing her firsthand knowledge,” stated a PJL press release.

“(Larson) added podcasting to her repertoire during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her podcast, Barefooting With Sierra, started as a way to stay connected with fans during lockdown and now ranks in the top 250 on Apple podcasts in the books category across the world.

“Learn how she started her podcast, built her audience, and found high profile guests in this live Zoom session.”

Alberta Culture Days is Sept. 1 to 30 with events being held across the province, both virtually and in-person, indoors and outdoors.

“Culture is an important economic and social driver in our province. Alberta Culture Days helps us celebrate and appreciate the rich and diverse arts and culture on display in every corner of our province, stated Minister of Culture Ron Orr.

“As we come together in healing and reopening post-COVID, I invite all Albertans to take part in as many events as they can. This year’s Alberta Culture Days truly offers something for everyone and should not be missed.”

Central Alberta Fanfest is an online anime, comic book, science fiction and fantasy convention being held from Sept. 27 to Oct. 2. Hosted by PJL and other central Alberta libraries, the convention will feature online table talks, crafts and games as well as a cosplay contest and an online vendors market.

More information on events and tickets will be coming soon.
