Ponoka man arrested in possession of crystal meth

Ponoka RCMP arrested a motorist in possession of methamphetamine drugs.

Police say on Feb. 2, CP Rail Police contacted RCMP after seeing a vehicle driving in the ditch alongside Highway 2A. By the time police arrived they found a blue Silverado pickup stuck in the ditch.

“Upon investigation it was found that the driver was suspended,” say police.

The 35-year-old Ponoka man was also found to be in possession of the drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of an opioid and driving while disqualified.

He is to appear in court Feb. 15.
