Results of Alberta Weekly Newspaper Association’s annual “Better Newspapers Competition” for 2013 were announced last week with Ponoka News receiving two “Awards of Excellence”, one top prize and one second place in two categories.
The judges awarded the first prize to Ponoka News in the Best Special Sections and Supplements Awards category for “Believe in the Magic of Christmas” section published with the December 18, 2013 edition.
The second place award was given in the Best Agricultural Supplement category in appreciation of the section published with the March 20 issue.
