On May 8 at approximately 8:30 a.m. the Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a break and enter to a rural property on Range Road 245.
Unknown suspects broke into a shed and took .22 caliber ammunition. File is currently under investigation.
Motorbikes stolen
Sometime overnight of May 7 unknown suspects broke into a shop located on Range Road 242A and stole two motor bikes.
A white or silver coloured truck was noticed sitting at the top of the driveway at approximately 11:00 p.m. A red Honda motorbike and a blue and white Honda motorbike with blue handlebars was taken from the shop.
Tools and helmets were taken along with the bikes.
On May 7 during the evening hours, unknown suspects driving a truck (no description of the truck available) entered the Mixcor Aggregates Gravel Pit located on Matejka Road, and damaged the iron fence.
The gates were smashed and the pits entered but nothing was taken. File is currently under investigation.
Purse taken from vehicle
On May 1, the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle break in that occurred on 44 Street.
Unknown suspects entered the vehicle and stole a purse and wallet from a SUV that was parked at the residence. The file is currently under investigation.
Job fraud
The Ponoka RCMP is advising the public of a fraud that is going around the internet.
A claims representative from the Nagashima Company is sending Interac e-Transfers and cheques (in large amounts) as retainers for employee prospects.
The prospective employee is contacted through email of a job opportunity but the job turns out to be a fraud. If anyone has had any dealings with this company please contact the RCMP to report.
Do not give out any personal information such as bank account numbers, social insurance numbers, addresses etc.
