Ponoka RCMP handle intoxicated persons and thefts

On Sept. 9, 2020, the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft of tools from a shed on 54 St. The file is currently under investigation.

On Sept. 11, 2020, members responded to a complaint of a suspicious person with a knife looking in vehicles on 39 Ave. Patrols were made but members were unable to locate the suspect.

Later that day, members responded to a complaint of an intoxicated person by Leland Hotel. The person was located and arrested. No charges were laid.

On Sept. 12, 2020 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of intoxicated person — again in front of the Leland Hotel. The person was located and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On Sept. 13, 2020 members responded to an alarm at the waste transfer site. Patrols were made, however the suspect was not located.

You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers. If you provide information to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property or the seizure of illicit drugs, you could be eligible for a cash award.”
