Ponoka RCMP investigate attempted theft of vehicle

Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of an attempted vehicle theft at the Husky Gas Station.

Ponoka RCMP investigators are looking for information related to the theft of cigarettes from 7-Eleven on March 31. Police allege the suspect asked for four packs of cigarettes and then left without paying.

On March 29 at approximately 6:00 a.m. the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of an attempted vehicle theft at the Husky Gas Station that occurred sometime during the evening hours.

The truck door was opened and the wires for the ignition were tampered with. File is currently under investigation.

Cigarettes stolen

On March 31 the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of shoplifting from the 7-Eleven convenience store.

A Caucasian male around five foot six inches tall entered the store and asked for four packages of cigarettes. The items were placed on the counter and when the clerk turned his back police allege the man fled the store with the cigarettes and entered a white SUV.

The suspect was wearing glasses and a black t-shirt.
