Ponoka RCMP Briefs Jan. 1 to Jan. 5, 2020:

Jan. 1

The Ponoka RCMP conducted a check stop on Highway 2A. Forty-six vehicles were checked. One license suspension given and one violation ticket issued.

Jan. 2

  • The Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a theft of a license plate from a motor vehicle that was parked on 50 St.
  • RCMP were called to investigate an abandoned car hauler trailer on 38th Street. Upon investigation it was found that the trailer was stolen out of Red Deer.
  • The Ponoka RCMP were dispatched to a suspicious 2004 Black Dodge Ram that was located on 54 St. The passenger side window was broken and taped. The truck also had a broken drivers side taillight. Upon investigation it was revealed that the vehicle was stolen out of Red Deer. Driver had bright red hair, early 20’s and wearing a black hoody. Passenger was early 20’s, black baseball hat and clean shaven. Upon RCMP arrival the suspects fled from the RCMP members and were last seen heading North on Highway 2A. File currently under investigation.

Jan. 3

  • The Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter to the Town of Ponoka storage yard. File is currently under investigation.

Jan. 4

  • The Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft of a 2015 PJ Utility trailer from a residence on 43rd Street. Alberta license plate number 4XFS24. Trailer has a flip down ramp and checker plated fenders. File is currently under investigation.

Jan. 5

  • The RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter to a residence on 46 St. The inside of the residence was ransacked and food, clothing and other items taken. File currently under investigation.
