UPDATE: Ponoka RCMP investigate fatal car, train collision

ORIGINAL STORY:

On July 12, 2021 at approximately 3:44 p.m., Ponoka RCMP was dispatched to a report of a collision between a car and a train which occurred at Matejka Road and Highway 2A. Ponoka RCMP attended the scene, as well as EMS, Fire and CP Rail Police.

The lone occupant of the car, a 26-year-old female from Ponoka, was declared deceased at the scene.

The Ponoka RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision, to please call the Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4472.
