Ponoka RCMP investigate thefts from rural mailboxes

Thefts occurred with suspects cutting the locks then taking the mail

There’s been a rash of thefts to rural postal boxes in Ponoka County.

Ponoka RCMP say they received numerous complaints from March 30 to April 6 of damage to mailboxes in the Morning Meadows and Wolf Creek area.

Unknown suspects broke the locks off of the boxes and took the mail, say police.

The incidents are under investigation.

Vehicle damaged at Esso car wash

Police received a complaint April 4 of a vehicle damaged while in the Esso car wash.

It appears that the wash unit came down on the back end of the vehicle causing severe damage to the back end of the car.
