Ponoka RCMP investigating theft of two trucks

Other theft incidents occurred in the town and county of Ponoka

On May 29 the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft of a 2007 black GMC three-quarter ton crew cab.

The truck was eventually located on 44 Street. And then a 2007 Black GMC Sierra with a red slip tank in the back was stolen from in front of the residence. The file is currently under investigation.

Generators stolen

On May 29 police responded to a complaint of a theft of generators.

A Yamaha 2800i blue and silver and a 3,000 watt generator yellow and black were stolen. The suspect vehicle is described as a dark mid-2000 Chevrolet pickup.

Items stolen from aquaplex change room

On May 30 the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a theft from the change room at the aquaplex.

A youth, described as being First Nations, is said to have been wearing a dark blue hoodie, dark denim jeans and red and black shoes. Two iPhones are said to have been taken. The file is currently under investigation.

Impaired driver nabbed

On June 6 the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a possible impaired driver that had just entered the ditch along Highway 2 southbound from Highway 2A.

Police made patrols to the area and located a 30-year-old Red Deer man in a red Hyundai in the ditch. After further investigation, breath samples were obtained and the male was subsequently charged with impaired driving and driving over .08 blood-alcohol content.
