The Ponoka RCMP arrested an impaired driver on April 28.

The RCMP was making patrols eastbound in rural Ponoka when an officer saw a black car travelling westbound and noticed, in his rear-view mirror, the car had no license plate.

The officer conducted a traffic stop. The 38-year-old male driver blew a fail on an approved screening device and was arrested for impaired driving and has charges pending.

Ponoka RCMP are again reminding the public of a possible fraud that is occuring in the area.

Subjects are approaching the public and trying to sell “gold” jewellery.

The jewellery is fake. If you are approached in regards to the sale of jewellery, please contact the Ponoka RCMP Detachment.

If you have information about the impaired driving investigation, please call the Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4472, or your local police detachment. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
