Ponoka RCMP respond to youth lighting fire, breaking window

Ponoka RCMP briefs April 6 to 12

On April 6, 2021 the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of a theft of a license plate. This occurred in the area of 44 Ave. in Ponoka.

Members again dealt with a second complaint of a stolen license plate the next day, this time in the area of 45 St.

On April 8, the Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a break and enter at a business on 50 St. in Ponoka. It was determined the complaint was unfounded.

Ponoka RCMP received a complaint on April 8 of a theft on a rural property. A welder and cement mixer that both were stored in a shed were stolen. This occurred in Ponoka County near RR 264.

On April 8, the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of suspicious persons trying to get into mailboxes in Ponoka County. Patrols were made, however, the suspects were not located.

On April 10, the Ponoka RCMP received a complaint of suspicious person spray painting areas in the industrial area off of Hwy 53. A suspect was located and charged.

Also on April 10, the Ponoka RCMP and Ponoka County Fire Services responded to a complaint of children lighting a fire in the skate park. Parents of the children were notified of this incident.

Ponoka RCMP responded to a complaint of a youth breaking the windshield of an abandoned vehicle on April 10. The youth was located and warned.
