Ponoka RCMP responded to the scene of a traffic hazard early on Feb. 10 near Morningside.

A large bridge beam had fallen off a truck and was blocking the Highway 2A south bound off ramp onto the QEII south of Morningside.

“It was a very large metal that that is presenting some very serious issues with removing,” said media relations officer Cpl. Troy Savinkoff.

511 Alberta advised at 5:44 am that a semi had overturned.

RCMP are redirecting southbound traffic on Highway 2a onto Highway 604. RCMP were expecting the obstruction to take a few hours to be removed.

As of 2 p.m., the southbound on ramp from Highway 2A remained closed.
