Ponoka RCMP search for suspects in $10,000 tire theft

Ponoka RCMP investigate theft of $10,000 worth of tires from Integra Tire.

Officers are still looking for a suspect as the investigation continues into a break and enter at Integra Tire in Ponoka on Jan. 26. A fence at the business, located on 48 Avenue, was breached sometime overnight where approximately $10,000 worth of tires were stolen.

Meanwhile, Ponoka RCMP arrested a Sylvan Lake woman and a man from Wimborne, both of whom are facing a number of charges as a result of a complaint about two suspicious vehicles near Crestomere on Jan. 28.

The pair can’t be named until they make their first court appearance Feb. 2. They were taken into custody after officers arrived to the scene on Secondary Highway 792.

Investigators found two individuals passed out in one of the vehicles. Further investigation found that the vehicles had both been reported stolen — one from Acme and the other from Three Hills.

The 29-year-old woman has been charged with two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with a court order plus one count of removing a vehicle identification number.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old man is charged with three counts of failure to comply with a court order, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal to $5,000 and removal of a vehicle identification number.
