Ponoka RCMP seeking footage of alleged vehicle hit

A 38-year-old male from Calgary was taken to hospital Sept. 10

The Ponoka RCMP issued a news release on Sept. 23, asking for video footage of the incident on Sept. 10, 2020, where a pedestrian was allegedly struck by a vehicle.

At 4:09 p.m. Sept. 10, RCMP received a call about a 38-year-old male from Calgary being hit by a vehicle by Hwy. 2A and Hwy. 53.

The incident occurred while two groups of protesters were gathered in the area.

According to the news release, EMS attended the scene and the male was transported to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

“Ponoka RCMP continue to investigate this incident and are asking for the public’s assistance from anyone who may have dash cam footage, or video footage in that area of the incident between 3:45 p.m. until 4:10 p.m. on Sept. 10, 2020, or, if you have information regarding this incident, to contact the Ponoka RCMP at 403-783-4472, or your local police,” stated the release.
