School is less than a week away and Ponoka schools are pretty much ready.
Both Wolf Creek Public Schools and St. Thomas Aquinas Roman (STAR) Catholic School Division will open their respective schools in Ponoka this week in order for any new students to get registered.
For STAR Catholic’s St. Augustine School, the main office will be open Aug. 30 to Sept. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration packages available. A reminder for parents that the student’s most recent report card and a birth certificate will need to accompany the registration. Anyone with questions can call the office at (403) 704-1155.
Returning students that will be in Grades 9 to 12 will be able to pick up textbooks and their class timetables at the school’s secondary library from Aug. 30 between 1 and 3 p.m. Any student that needs to make changes to their timetable after this will need to make an appointment to do so.
For Grade 7 and 8 students can pick up their textbooks on Sept. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m. Any Grade 9 to 12 student that missed getting their books earlier can come by on this day as well.
An orientation for Grade 7 students will also be held on Sept. 1, with tours and information being provided from 10 to 11 a.m.
