The Best in Business Innovation was celebrated in Red Deer recently at The Winter’s Edge Investment Forum.

It was also the night of the announcement for the Best-In-Show $10,000 prize winner at the Canadian Western Bank After Party.

Voted on by attendees, the $10,000 prize was offered by Canadian Western Bank, and was awarded to Ponoka’s Brandi Buss of Beelieve Lifestyle and Apparel, which is stylish, high quality, pickpocket proof travel apparel: beelieve.ca.

“The pitch journey is not easy, and I admire anyone who takes it on. I am beyond grateful for the learning experience and it was a complete bonus to win the prize of $10,000,” said Buss, founder of Beelieve Lifestyle and Apparel.

The announcement and after party followed a full day of exciting pitches from industries including clean/renewable energy, oil and gas services, transportation, land development, retail, marketing, manufacturing, technology/communications, and insurance.

Unique in central Alberta, this one-day event was attended by businesses, financial services, investors, municipalities, developers and business service providers.

Attendees enjoyed valuable insights from guest speakers Jim Gibson (author and entrepreneur), Luke Krueger (Valhalla Private Capital), and Deidra Dionne (Olympic Bronze Medalist in freestyle skiing aerials).

Investors and pitchers can look forward to the next event, held in the fall of 2019. More information is available at centralalbertaedge.ca/winters-edge.
