On Saturday Jan. 25 at 16:40, Maskwacis RCMP along with Emergency Medical Services responded to a location on the Samson First Nation where the body of a deceased male was located.
The male was located in an open area approximately 1.5 km south of Highway 611 East.
Police believe the deceased, who was last seen on Jan. 17 in the Maskwacis area was reported missing to Maskwacis RCMP on January 24.
The male has been identified as 17-year-old Travis RAIN of Maskwacis. The police investigation is continuing, and pending autopsy results, the death is not being considered suspicious at this time.
An autopsy scheduled for Monday, Jan. 27 has been postponed until Tuesday January 28th.
