Seasons Ponoka supports local food bank with can collection competition

Challenge was held earlier this month

Once again, Seasons Retirement Communities Ponoka supported the Ponoka Food Bank with the can collection competition, “One Can Make a Difference.”

The company-wide challenge was held from July 3 to 14 and raised a total of $42,000 for Food Banks Canada and brought in more than 6,300 cans of food.

“With a steadfast commitment to the well-being of seniors in our communities, the Seasons’ One ‘Can’ corporate challenge holds a special place in our hearts,” said Stephanie Waldron, general manager at Seasons Ponoka in a press release.

“In the face of prevalent food insecurity among older adults, our resolve to support them remains resolute. Contributing to the betterment of the communities our residents and team members call home is of paramount importance, as it reflects the essence of our mission.”

All homes collected a total of 875 more cans this year compared to 2022.

Since 2016, Seasons Retirement Communities has partnered with Food Banks Canada for its corporate giving initiatives.

To date, Seasons has donated more than $262,000 in funds and collected over 17,500 cans in the last three years, for local food banks.
