Seniors Week profile: Hank Fessler’s family moved to Ponoka in 1939

Hank Fessler, 93, resident of Seasons Retirement Community Ponoka, has two children, three grandsons, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters.

One of his grandsons says that Fessler is pretty humble and doesn’t talk much about being proud of his accomplishments but he holds dearly the fact that he was married to his wife Myrtle for 59 years.

Hank Fessler was born and raised in a small town outside of Regina, until he was 13. His family then moved to Ponoka in 1939 to help out his father’s family with farming.

Fessler’s hobbies are playing games like ladder ball, Wii bowling, bingo, bean bag tossing and curling at Seasons with his close friends.

Hank enjoys living at Seasons because of the friends he’s made and because everyone is so friendly.
