The Ponoka and District Chamber of Commerce has launched several shop local initiatives and contests where participants can discover what Ponoka has to offer and have a chance at winning prizes too.

#ShopPonoka Contest

One lucky shopper could win a $500 gift card to a local store of their choice in the #ShopPonoka Contest.

It’s easy — get a reusable shop local bag at a participating business and take a photo of yourself with your bag at any local business until July 7. Post the photo on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShopPonoka and tag the chamber to be entered.

The winner will be drawn on July 9.

Discover Ponoka

Discover Ponoka is a QR contest from July 7 to 21 put on through the chamber.

With 14 select locations, flyers will be hung with a QR code at 14 select locations. Input your information to enter into a draw. There are three draws available.

The draw for $700 can be entered in by finding, scanning, and entering the form at 10 different locations.

The draw for $200 can be entered in by finding, scanning, and entering the form at five to nine different locations.

The draw for $100 can be entered in by finding, scanning, and entering the form at four different locations.

The locations of these QR codes will be posted on the chamber’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) and on the ponokachambertourism.com webpage.

Shop Outside of the Box

The chamber presents their ‘Shop Outside of the Box’ campaign to promote local business. A box will be placed on a local business site to stay for its duration until it gets moved to a different location.

To have a name placed in the box, a customer must purchase the business where our mystery box is placed. On their social media pages, the chamber will hint where the box is placed at a given time.

At the end of the campaign, they will draw a name. The prizes will be $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.
