Staff Sgt. Dwayne Moore, most recently posted at the Maskwacis RCMP detachment, has taken on the position of detachment commander for the Breton and Thorsby detachments, effective Feb. 8, 2021.

Moore has spent all of his 17 years of service in Alberta, previously serving in Leduc and Edson as well as Maskwacis.

The RCMP is pleased to announce his new post and is confident he brings “in-depth knowledge of the dynamics of policing in rural Alberta” to Breton and Thorsby.

“Staff Sgt. Moore will focus on crime reduction and community engagement while promoting and maintaining the strong ties between RCMP partners and the community at large. He is excited to take up this post and looks forward to meeting the people in Breton and Thorsby communities.”

Inspector Leanne MacMillan took over the post of detachment commander of the Maskwacis detachment in October, 2020.
