RCMP have collected physical evidence and are left with a “hunch” after two local store break-ins early in the morning of Dec. 11.

The same person is suspected in both break-ins at the Golden Wheel Restaurant and Super Foods in Ponoka.

“We have a few suspects in mind,” said Sgt. Glenn Demaere. “We expect the individual was looking for money for drugs.”

About $200 cash was stolen. Physical evidence collected at the scenes is being analyzed.
