Streamflow advisory issued for Battle River

Town of Ponoka advise residents to stay on walking path

Ponoka residents are advised to be cautious around the Battle River due to high water levels and flow rates.

Alberta Environment and Parks has issued a high streamflow advisory for the Battle River as water levels have risen over 1.5 metres due to recent rainfall.

The Town of Ponoka would like to remind residents to stay on the walking paths and keep away from the river banks when enjoying the Battle River Valley.

Low-lying areas adjacent to the Battle River could be flooded if river levels continue to rise.

The Town of Ponoka along with Alberta Environment and Parks will continue to actively monitor the river levels. Further updates will be provided as needed.
