The Town of Ponoka is pleased to welcome Angie Schumacher as our new General Manager of Corporate Services.
In her new role, Schumacher oversees the Town’s Financial Services, Human Resources and Information Technology departments. Her duties include leading the development and implementation of policies and programs; managing municipal resources in a cost-effective and fiscally responsible manner; establishing corporate direction; and achieving strategic corporate goals and objectives.
Schumacher is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) who brings more than 20 years of senior management experience to her new position with the Town. She has worked for organizations across western Canada. Most recently, she was a Revenue Supervisor for the City of Kelowna where she led the finance team for four years.
Schumacher enjoys the friendly and welcoming environment she has experienced from the community since moving here and is excited to make Ponoka her new hometown. She appreciates the strong connection she feels to the community and loves spending time on the walking trails and visiting Ponoka’s parks and local businesses.
Schumacher replaces Sandra Lund who served as the town’s General Manager of Corporate Services for the past seven years. Lund was appointed as the Town of Ponoka’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) earlier this year.
