The Town of Ponoka will host a free drive-in movie event on Friday, Sept. 10 at the Ponoka Arena Complex. Citizens are invited to come park, bring snacks and enjoy Disney Pixar’s movie ‘Up’ from the comfort of their vehicles.

“We are excited to host another fun drive-in movie event as an end-of-summer celebration for our citizens to enjoy,” said Andrew Jones, Town of Ponoka manager of Parks, Recreation and Facilities.

He noted the town hosted a drive-in movie earlier this summer that was a huge success.

“We received a lot of positive feedback from the families who attended that event, so we are looking forward to welcoming citizens back for this next drive-in movie on September 10,” said Jones.

First come, first serve

The parking lot will be open to vehicles starting at 8 p.m. The movie starts at 9 p.m. The parking lot can accommodate up to 200 vehicles. Parking will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Town staff and volunteers will be on site to help direct vehicles into parking spots. Washrooms will be available during the event.
