Town of Ponoka offering paperless option for property assessment, tax notice

Ponoka residents can now receive their property assessment and tax notice sent to them over email, if they so choose.

Ponoka town council recently passed an electronic assessment and tax communications bylaw which gives citizens the choice of opting for email delivery of those notices.

Citizens can sign up to receive their assessment and tax notice by email by filling out the email authorization form. The form can be completed by:

- Visiting the Town of Ponoka website at www.ponoka.ca, where the form can be o downloaded, filled out and emailed to taxes@ponoka.ca or printed, filled out and dropped off to the town office.

- Contacting the tax clerk at taxes@ponoka.ca or calling 403-783-0127 to have an electronic copy of the form emailed to you; or

- In person at the town office at the Ponoka Civic Centre.

The deadline to sign up to receive your 2022 Assessment and Tax Notice to be emailed is Friday, May 6.

Property owners are able to sign up anytime to receive future notices by email. Those who don’t sign up will continue to receive a paper copy of their assessment and tax notice by mail.

Citizens who sign up for email delivery before the deadline will be entered in a draw to win one of five 10-punch recreation passes. The winner will be drawn and announced on Friday, May 13.
