The Town of Ponoka is asking drivers to watch for “No Parking” signs to help with their snow and ice removal efforts this winter.

Motorists are asked to look for the signs and move parked vehicles from roadways where “No Parking” signage is posted.

The town advises moving your vehicle is a requirement under the Town of Ponoka’s Traffic Bylaw No. 388-17 and may result in fines and the towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense if needed.

“Moving parked vehicles from roadways allows crews to conduct snow and ice control operations more safely and efficiently,” states the press release. “Motorists are also asked to please use alternate routes and avoid areas where snow and ice control equipment are working wherever possible.”

For snow and ice control updates, visit the town’s website at www.ponoka.ca or follow them on their social media pages.
