The Town of Ponoka’s annual pavement and concrete improvement programs for 2023 are underway.
These programs identify and prioritize aging roadways, sidewalks, curbs and gutters in Ponoka that require improvement and replacement.
Micro-surfacing will begin on several roadways in the following weeks. Micro-surfacing is applying a special coating to the top layer of asphalt as a cost-effective way to prolong the life of the road as it prevents oxidization and moisture penetration.
Micro-surfacing will done on:
– 51 Street (between Highway 2A and 53 Avenue);
– 57 Avenue (between 50 and 54 Street); and
– 50 Street (between 53 and 55 Avenue).
Paving and concrete replacement and repair will also be happening at multiple locations throughout the Town of Ponoka during the construction season.
