(Karen Douglass/Ponoka News)

CP Rail staff are currently on the scene at the train tracks across from the Brick in downtown Ponoka, after four cars came off the tracks.

According to Nicholas Pattyn, superintendent for Canadian Pacific (CP) Rail, Alberta north, the cars were loaded and the track gave out, causing them to derail.

Pattyn says it’s not known what the cars are loaded with.
