UPDATE: Located - Tactical unit search Ponoka home, seek location of wanted man

UPDATE: Ponoka RCMP state that Mark Carr has been located and a court date is pending.

Ponoka RCMP are looking for a man charged in a sexual assault and forcible confinement case.

Overnight of June 3, RCMP, along with K-Division's ERT (Emergency Response Team) closed off a portion of 51 Avenue by 52 Street in Ponoka. Crews executed the search warrant at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses state they heard two loud bangs, which were deployed by officers. There was no indication that firearms were used at any point in the incident.

At this point, ERT, deployed two armoured units along with a six-wheel robot at the address of 5200 block of 51 Avenue.

During the process an officer spoke on a loudspeaker stating that they had a warrant to search the property.

"Mark Carr, you are under arrest. You must come out and follow the directions of the officers. Do it now," continued the address, which went on through most of the incident.

Police have charged Carr, 37, with sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats.

At about 2:45 a.m. crews left the scene with no incident. Carr was not in the home at the time, however, crews did make use of the vehicle's battering ram to break the window of the home before entering.
