Central Alberta locals Randi Boulton and Cam Hinton gave a dueling pianos-style performance at a fundraiser benefiting St. Augustine School on April 29 at the Peppered Elk.
The duo crooned to classics and rocked out to top hits as requested by the packed crowd, with preference going to the most generous donors.
The Friends of St. Augustine School Support Foundation has been raising funds for a new play ground for the school.
Chair of the playground committee Christie Remillard estimates the event raised about $10,000, which was the goal. The committee has now raised about $70,000 of the total $125,000 fundraising goal for the project.
According to Remillard, the event was “wonderful.” It sold out and everyone loved the food, she said. The meal was provided by Evolution Catering.
Once $125,000 is raised, St Augustine will apply for the Community Facility Enhancement Program, which will hopefully result in the provincial government matching the amount raised.
The total cost for project is $270,000.
