During the joint operation, officers observed a drug transaction which “led to continued investigation,” according to an April 6 RCMP release.
Search warrants for properties in Millet and Wetaskiwin were obtained based on those investigations resulting in the seizure of 25 grams of fentanyl, 97 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of cocaine, a stolen motorcycle, currency and other items used in drug trafficking.
Lauren Curtis, 43, of Ponoka has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, driving while unauthorized and possession of a controlled substance.
Curtis was released from custody pending a court date on April 18, in Wetaskiwin.
Also charged was Lester Acorn, 38, of Wetaskiwin. Acorn was charged with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to comply with a previous release order.
Acorn was ordered to remain in remand until court on April 18 by the justice.
