Ada McIntosh Johnson (Ghent) - b. April 10, 1910 and d. March 22, 2009;
predeceased by husband George of Victoria, BC and survived by son Keith (McIntosh) of Montgomery, Texas and daughter Jeneen (Karch) of Victoria; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, one sister Olive (Elofson) of Edmonton, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. Ada graduated in nursing from the University of Alberta in 1933 and after retiring from a nursing career became the first female full-time manager of the Ponoka Credit Union after the death of husband and co-founder, Bill (Mac) McIntosh, for several years before finally retiring to Victoria. Involved
in the IODE, Fort Ostell Library, UCW, Amnesty International and many church
activities, Ada loved to read and to play bridge. She was generous and had faith in Christianity. Loved by her family and friends, there will be a memorial to honour her at a place in Ponoka to be announced in the summer.
