It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alan David Lewis at the age of 92 years. Alan was the younger son of Rod and Nellie Lewis. He lived a full and interesting life. It began on Soldier Settlement land with his family, farming with his father and his brother Ivan. They continued farming and expanding when their parents retired. Alan began his schooling at Bobtail before attending high school in Ponoka. His joy came from hunting with friends and later his boys. He also enjoyed mining in the Yukon, curling, travelling and enjoying God's earth. Alan moved into town just a few short months ago.
Alan is survived by his wife of 30 years, Keitha; Ethel Gardner, the mother of his children; his son Blaine and Heather and their children Erin (Lorne) and Craig; his son Ken and Marilyn and their children Suzanne (Nathan), James, Jackie, and Leigh; his son Garnet and Angie and their son Blake; his step-sons Robert and Sherry Johnston and Shaun and Susan Johnston; step-grandchildren Shea, Cael, Jared, and Stephanie; his eleven great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law Elva Lewis. Alan was predeceased by his grandson Wyatt; his great-grandchild baby Tristan; and his siblings Ivan and Norma (Bill).
Memorial donations in Alan's name are gratefully accepted to the Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society.
A Memorial Service will be announced when it is safe to gather again.
